• We designed Global Pollen Tracker to work with minimal data.
• We do not collect or sell browsing history.
• Location for weather/pollen can be manually set and stored locally; if you choose auto-location, it is used only to provide weather/pollen and is not used for targeted ads.
• Payments (subscriptions/donations) are processed by third-party payment providers; we do not store full card details.
• Ads (if shown) are contextual and not based on your browsing activity.

1) Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• The Global Pollen Tracker Chrome extension (the "Extension")
• Our website and related pages (the "Site")
• Customer support communications (email/contact forms)

2) Data We Collect (and Why)

We collect only what we need to operate and improve the Extension and Site.

A. Data you provide

Location preference (manual): city, ZIP code, region, or custom location label. Stored locally on your device by default.

Support requests / contact form: your email address and message content to respond to inquiries.

Subscription / donation info: billing metadata (payment status, plan tier, transaction IDs). We do not store full payment card numbers.

B. Data collected automatically (limited)

Basic service logs: IP address, device/browser type, timestamps, error logs for security and reliability.

Anonymous/aggregated analytics: non-identifying usage events, performance metrics, crash reports to improve user experience.

C. Optional precise location

If you enable "use current location," we may access device geolocation to show local weather/pollen. You can disable this anytime. We do not use precise location for targeted advertising.

3) Data We Do NOT Collect

• Browsing history or the content of webpages you visit
• Keystrokes or form inputs unrelated to the Extension's functionality
• Passwords or financial account credentials
• Personal profiles built from cross-site tracking

4) How We Use Data

• Provide weather/pollen features and related UI functions
• Maintain and secure the Extension/Site
• Respond to support requests
• Administer subscriptions/donations
• Improve reliability and performance using aggregated/anonymous metrics

5) Third-Party Services & Sharing

We share data only as necessary to provide the service, comply with law, or protect users.

Service Providers: database hosting (Neon/PostgreSQL), email delivery (Resend), payment processors (Stripe/PayPal/Apple/Google), hosting infrastructure.

What we share: only the minimum required.

What we don't do: We do not sell personal information to data brokers, share browsing activity for advertising, or allow third parties to use Extension data for their own marketing.

6) Advertising (If and When Shown)

We may display ads to support free usage. Ads are contextual (based on Extension/Site context), not based on your browsing history.

We do not collect or use web browsing activity for advertising. If we ever introduce personalized ads, we will update this policy and provide notice and opt-out choices.

7) Cookies & Similar Technologies

Our Site may use limited cookies/local storage for session management, security/fraud prevention, and remembering preferences.

We do not intentionally use cookies for cross-site tracking.

8) Data Retention

• Support requests: retained as long as needed, then deleted or anonymized.
• Subscription metadata: retained as required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
